Hands book launch events (1 of 2)

Doubt is an essential part of the publication and book promotion process. Am I doing enough readings? How do I market or position the book? Is the book even good? Do I need a new author photo (see image above). Oh no, I got a new author photo and I look way older! I should’ve worn a gold chain to make me look younger and cooler.

But it’s time to leave all those questions behind. Publication (April 14) is less than a week away. Now it’s time to get on the road and talk about the book.

Below is a list of upcoming readings, conversations, and book events in the Denver area. I look forward to seeing you there!

April 21 | 7 p.m. | West Side Books & Curious: Broken Immigrants. Celebrate the release of Pardeep Toor’s debut short story collection with a conversation about immigrant experiences gone wrong. Pardeep will be in conversation with Anna Qu, author of Made in China.

April 29 | 7 p.m. | Fort Greene Bar : Reading Den with Josiah Hesse, Diane Botnick, Lauren Camp

May 8 | 6:30 p.m. | Lighthouse Writers Workshop : Join writers Hermione HobyBarrett Swanson, and Pardeep Toor as they explore the deformation of the American Dream. Each of their works explore the tension between imagination and actuality. What happens when you’re chasing something that may not exist anymore? How do you write about hope when the circumstances feel impossible? What role does fiction play in maintaining myths of happiness and possibility?

June 7 | 4 p.m. | The Shop at MATTER: Celebrate the launch of Pardeep Toor’s short story collection with a workshop on writing dialogue. Why is it so hard to say the right thing to the right person on the page? Discover the intricacies of writing clear and effective dialogue in this interactive workshop.

More information on future events in Chicago, Fort Collins, and Happy Valley coming soon!
